With these companies, you send away your jewelry via certified, insured mail. Within a few days, you receive an offer followed by a check for the appraised value for your jewelry. Prices are generally fair, but trust issues may arise when sending valuables to an obscure company that you never interact with in person.
Why not a pawn shop?
When you sell to a pawn shop, you’re not actually selling your pieces. Instead, you use them as collateral on a cash advance. Pawn shops are typically for people who need cash fast and are willing to accept a lower price in exchange for money quickly. Not everyone feels comfortable in a pawn shop setting.

We also donate a percentage of all proceeds from the items purchased at each party to charity. And party hostesses earn 10% of the value purchased at each party—if the hostess chooses to donate her earnings to the charity, Golden Girls® donates even more!
Will I have to buy something at the party?
Absolutely not! In fact, there’s nothing available for purchase at a Golden Girls® Party. Simply bring your items to sell. Our trained experts will help you determine the value of your gold, silver, and platinum.
Why would I want to participate in a Buying Party?
A Golden Girls® party is not only a time to share with friends, but it’s also a way to get rid of your old, broken, or unwanted jewelry by selling it to our licensed and qualified Buyers. When you sell with Golden Girls®, we will pay you directly.
Most importantly, Golden Girls® is committed to improving local communities. We encourage the hostess at each party to choose her favorite charity, and then we donate a portion of the party proceeds to the charity of her choice.
Can I earn money at a Buying Party?
Yes. There are several ways to earn money at a Golden Girls® Buying Party. If you are the hostess, you receive a portion of the certified precious metals purchased (10%). You can keep the money, share the money, or contribute some or all of your earnings to a favorite charity. Also, for every friend that books a party from your party, you will receive the Golden Girls® referral fee—up to $50. For example, if three friends book a party, that’s up to $150 more in your pocket!
If you are a guest, you can earn money by selling your old, unwanted gold, silver, or platinum—our licensed Buyer will pay you directly.
How does the Buyer know what my jewelry is worth?
The Golden Girls® certified Buyers are trained professionals using the latest technology to assess, measure and verify the items they purchase. This information is used to establish value using current secondary market prices.
How much of the money that I receive for selling my items will be passed on to a deserving organization?
None. All the money paid to you at the party—as guest or hostess—is yours to keep unless you choose to make a contribution. It is completely your decision. The contribution from Golden Girls® is derived solely from the remuneration earned through the refinement process and has no effect on the amount you receive for your items.
What kind of jewelry does Golden Girls® buy?
Golden Girls® buys unwanted or broken yellow or white gold jewelry as well as scrap and dental gold. We also purchase silver and platinum jewelry, silver cutlery and candlesticks, silver baby novelty items, and old coins.
Can the Buyer save the stones in my jewelry?
In most cases, the Buyer can remove the stones for you. Please do not hesitate to make this request. However, after the party has concluded, we cannot return the stones from your jewelry.
I don’t have time to attend or host a party. Does Golden Girls® accommodate private appointments?
Yes, a Golden Girls® Buyer can make arrangements to meet with you and complete a purchase at a place and time that it is mutually convenient.
How much does Golden Girls® pay for gold?
Our pricing is based on the daily London Fix price, the physical weight of your gold, the karat type or fineness and other factors. Golden Girls® is happy to provide you with an average price per gram based on the market during the previous few weeks. This will generally be a good indicator of the prices to be paid at your party, but remember that gold fluctuates around the clock.
